Labour Party Conference @Tech Central
29 September 2015 / 10.15 am
Join us at the Tech Central Fringe Event to debate:
Could machines do politics better than humans?Advances in data sciences, machine learning and artificial intelligence mean that computers are becoming better than people at logistics, decision-making and crisis management. Does this mean that they can also become better at politics?More specifically, in what area of politics could computers ultimately replace humans? What core qualities do politicians - and other people in the political sphere (journalists, lobbyists, NGOs, researchers) - have that will be irreplaceable by machines in the foreseeable future?
Is there anything we can do to help strengthen those human qualities?
The panelists:- Daniele Orner Ginor (Co-founder, Iota)- Kieron O'Hara (Senior Research Fellow, University of Southampton, Web Science Trust and Centre for Policy Studies)- Mateja Jamnik (Senior Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer, EPSRC, Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge.
